Jim Simpson

Jim Simpson, is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Continental Construction Incorporated (CCI). Continental Construction Incorporated was founded in May 1989. He has over 53 years of experience in the area of construction administration and management. As President and CEO of CCI, he has overseen the successful completion of projects of all sizes and complexities for both public and private sector clients in the Metropolitan Washington DC area.

As President and CEO of CCI, he has overseen the successful completion of projects of all sizes and complexities for both public and private sector clients in the Metropolitan Washington DC area. The projects range in construction value from $225,000 to $10,000,000. The diverse and multi-disciplined natures of the projects serve as examples of CCI’s ability to provide customized service to a variety of clients with different requirements.

Continental Construction Inc., most notable projects include The Washington Nationals Baseball Stadium, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the World II Memorial, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, MGM Casino, and The Newseum. Prior to Continental Construction Inc., Jim served in many management positions in the General Contracting area including Project Manager with Clark Construction, Blount Brothers Construction and SR Smoot Construction. He also served as the Chief Operation Officer (COO) for First District Construction which was the construction company for the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church (First District) Jim currently is a board member of the following associations: Bowie State University Foundation Board and Shabach Ministries Inc. Also, he serves as President for the National Association of Minority Contractors-DMV Chapter. He is a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of American Arbitration Association (AAA) as well.

A native of Washington, DC, Jim received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from D.C. Teacher’s College in 1971, Master of Science degree in Government from Southern Illinois University in 1975, Certificate in Construction Engineering from Catholic University in 1983 and Real Estate and Developers Executive Program Certificate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1991. Jim and his Wife Marilyn live in Maryland.
