Listed below are a few things that you need to know prior to completing the application:
All applicants will receive notification when the application has been received.
All applications will go through a screening process by the Governance and the Membership committees.
For applications that are accepted through the screening process, the applicant will be notified and invited for an interview with the Governance and the Membership committees.
Candidates will have an opportunity to address the Board of Directors.
The applicants that are elected to the board will start on July 1.
New board members orientation period will commence after the start date of July 1.
The first official board meeting will be in September..
Responsibilities and Commitments
Serve as an ambassador for the University and Students to the community.
To actively support the work of the foundation with community engagement.
Reach out to the community to secure financial resources to support the university and students.
Make a personal commitment of $10,000, give or get. A board member may help draw others to give support.
Serve on committees and actively engage in the work of the foundation.
Willingness to actively use their skills for the recruitment of business leaders and supporters to help with all aspects of the foundation’s needs.
Maintain a high level of integrity.
Willingness to enhance skills as it relates to the future and work of the foundation.
Strong social skills and the ability to work and collaborate with others.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, i.e., age, gender, occupation, race, background and service.
