Dr. LeTrecia Gloster embodies the spirit of servant leadership, dedicating her career to transforming education through equity, innovation, and excellence. A proud two-time alumna of Bowie State University, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education (2001) and a Doctorate in Education (2020). Her journey reflects a lifelong commitment to expanding opportunity, uplifting communities, and inspiring the next generation of educators and leaders.
Born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Dr. Gloster’s educational calling was shaped by her grandmother, an HBCU graduate of Voorhees College and former teacher on South Carolina’s Gullah Island, whose tireless advocacy for access and equity ignited her passion for service and teaching. That legacy continues to guide her approach as a transformational leader grounded in purpose and compassion.
Dr. Gloster’s professional experience spans more than two decades and includes roles as mathematics teacher, principal, Executive Director of transformational schools, and Assistant Superintendent. In 2022 as Assistant Superintendent for The School District of the City of York (PA), her leadership helped the school district become the first in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to successfully exit Recovery status. This is a milestone that underscored her ability to turn challenge into progress through collaboration, strategic planning, and data-driven improvement.
In 2025, Dr. Gloster returned home to Prince George’s County as the Associate Superintendent of Innovation and Performance for Prince George’s County Public Schools. In this role, she leads efforts to strengthen academic excellence, performance accountability, and systemwide innovation, ensuring that every student thrives within equitable and inclusive learning environments.
Dr. Gloster’s connection to Bowie State University is deeply personal and enduring. As an adjunct professor in the College of Education, she prepares aspiring educators to lead with cultural competence, empathy, and excellence. She also gives back through mentorship and service, having served as keynote speaker for BSU Women in Education: Blazing a Path and Making a Difference (2023) and the 55th Anniversary Celebration of the Exquisite Eta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
A graduate of the Howard University Urban Superintendent’s Academy and a certified Arbinger Institute trainer, Dr. Gloster supports leaders in cultivating organizational health, belonging, and purpose. Her service extends beyond education into civic life, where she is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, The Links, Incorporated, Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, and Phi Delta Kappa Sorority, Incorporated.
For Dr. Gloster, giving back to Bowie State University is both a privilege and a responsibility. It is a way to honor the institution that shaped her leadership and life’s purpose. Through her professional expertise, mentorship, and advocacy, she helps sustain BSU’s legacy as a beacon for historically Black colleges and universities, ensuring that its flame of faith and torch of truth continue to guide generations to come.
